About Kayleigh

Hometown: Troy, OH

School: Graduated from Bowling Green State University in May 2023

Though I’d grown up in the church (and a church I wholeheartedly love at that), it wasn’t until I got to college and read the book of Romans in a Bible study with Campus Outreach freshman year that the gospel became beautiful to me. I say this because I never really got it til then. Though I’m sure the good news of Jesus had been shared with me hundreds of times and I thought I understood it, my life had always reflected a belief that Jesus died so that I could work hard to be good enough to be saved. This is not the gospel and frankly, it’s not good news because I kept screwing up. But I’m so thankful to God for revealing Himself through His Word and the freedom I experienced after that year. It turns out the gospel is good news because Jesus’ death was a free gift of salvation for all who would simply turn to him, confess that he is Lord, and put their trust in him. Our goodness was not required and thank goodness because we’d all fail.

Campus Outreach was the vehicle God used in my life to meet a woman who would pour her life into discipling me and growing my vision for the Great Commission. This ministry brought me into a community with like-minded believers, showed me what it looks like to walk faithfully with God, and equipped me to multiply my life. During these four years, God has immensely grown my heart for those who don’t know Him and I am so excited to spend these next years reaching the lost world by building laborers on Bowling Green State University’s campus.
